Why there's no upload step

The profile banner sits at the top of your channel page behind your avatar and stream title — it's the first thing a new viewer sees. Twitch expects 1200×480 (a 5:2 shape) under 10MB. On mobile, Twitch crops the banner more aggressively toward the center, and the bottom-left corner is usually covered by your avatar — so keep logos and text centered.

Questions
Is my image uploaded anywhere?+

No. Resizing happens entirely in your browser — nothing touches a server before you upload it to Twitch yourself.

Will my image look stretched?+

No — aspect ratio is preserved, so your image fits inside the 1200×480 frame rather than being distorted.

Why does my banner look cropped on mobile?+

Twitch crops banners tighter on small screens — roughly toward a 2:1 center slice. Keep anything important in the middle of the frame.

What about panels and offline screens?+

Those use different sizes (panels are 320px wide, offline screens are 1920×1080) — use the custom Resize Image tool for those.
