  2. 2Click "Resize image".
  3. 3Download the result and pair it with Compress Image if your application also has a file-size limit.

Resize Passport Photo — why it works this way

Passport and ID photos have exact requirements that vary a bit by country, but many portals accept a square, evenly-cropped photo around 600×600px as a safe starting point. Since this is a government-identity document photo, doing the resize locally — without it ever touching a server — matters more here than almost any other use case on this site.

Is my file uploaded? No. Everything happens locally in your browser using the Canvas/File APIs — your file is never sent anywhere.

FAQs

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?+
No. This tool exists specifically because passport/ID photos shouldn't be handed to a random upload site.
Are the exact dimensions the same for every country?+
No — official requirements vary by country and document type. Check your specific application's requirements, then use the custom width/height fields on the tool if 600×600 isn't the exact size you need.
Does this also crop my face into the right position?+
No — this tool only resizes; use Crop Image first if you need to frame your face within the photo before resizing.
What about file size limits?+
Many application portals also cap file size — use Compress Image to 100KB after resizing if needed.
