Why there's no upload step
Lowering a video's resolution to fit an upload cap or save space usually means a round trip to a server. This tool decodes your video locally, redraws every frame at the new size, and re-encodes it with the original audio — all on your device.
Is my video uploaded anywhere?+
No. Resizing happens entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.
Will my video look stretched?+
Only if you pick dimensions with a different aspect ratio than the original — set width and height to match your source's proportions to avoid distortion.
Why does it take about as long as the video itself?+
Your browser has to actually play through the video to capture it at the new size — there's no way to render video faster than real time without much heavier tooling.
What format is the output?+
MP4 if your browser supports recording it, otherwise WebM — both play natively in modern browsers and most video apps.
