Why there's no upload step
Trimming a video normally means uploading it to a server and waiting for the download link. This tool plays your video locally and re-records just the range you chose, so the file never leaves your device — and there's no queue to wait in.
Is my video uploaded anywhere?+
No. Trimming happens entirely in your browser — the video is decoded, re-recorded, and re-encoded locally, with nothing sent to a server.
Why does it take as long as the clip itself?+
Your browser has to actually play through the selected range to capture it — there's no way to render video faster than real time without much heavier tooling, so a 30-second trim takes about 30 seconds.
What format is the output?+
MP4 if your browser supports recording it, otherwise WebM — both play natively in modern browsers and most video apps.
Does the audio stay in sync?+
Yes — audio and video are captured from the same live playback, so they stay in sync in the output.
